Q. How can I contact you?
Two ways. Through e-mail: Leafwoodfurry@yahoo.com
or MSN Messenger: wefjbowers@hotmail.com

Q. Will you draw my character for free?
On occasion, yes. But for the most part, no.
Q. What's a commission?
You pay me to draw something for you. (Artists have to eat, too!) Prices will depend on the type of drawing you want. Details on this can be found in the 'Prints and Commissions' section.
Q. Can I use one of your drawings as a portrait pic for my rp character? It would work perfect!
No, I'm sorry. I don't allow my work to be used to portray other people's characters. The drawings I do are personal, or have been paid for by a commissioner. If you want a portrait for your character, you can always commission me.
Q. Can I use your work for websets, signatures, personal site layouts, avatars, ect?
No, sorry. I do not want my work used for any other purpose than what it was drawn for.
Q. Will you do a pic trade with me?
It depends. I might, but I might not. Usually I am able to and would love to.
Q. What type of pencils and paper do you use when you draw?
I usually use a mechanical pencil with either 0.03, 0.05 or 0.07 lead, and usually use either your generic printer paper or art paper such as "Impressions."
Q. You do so many black and white drawings...can I color one of them?
Sure, feel free to. :3 Color references for characters can be found in the character bios section. I'd love to see when you're done coloring, too. Please ask before you go posting it everywhere, though. Copyright still applies, even if you've colored it.
Q. How old are you, and how did you learn to draw like this?
I'm 17, and I learned to draw by study and observation and practice as well as some art classes in order to improve my art skills. Practice is the key to becoming an artist. All good artists come from cruddy ones who refused to give up. I've been drawing since I could remember, but I know that artistic abilities run in my family from both sides. I am related to the famous French artist, Jean-François Millet.
Q. Did you go to an art school or take classes?
Yes. I am taking art classes in order to improve my skill.
Q. Can you teach me?
I am not really sure.. ^^; I don't think I'd make that great of an Art teacher and even though I try to help others the best I can, all I would be doing is teaching you how to draw in my style. You should observe and practice and sooner or later you'll have an art style that is unique to you..
Q. Can I use your art to practice from, or reference for a drawing of mine?
I am fine with it, but I'd try other sources for reference than the work of another artist. I am not perfect at anatomy, and my style is a mixture of many things including anime, not an acurate reference or depiction of anything but the images in my mind. I suggest you use photos, or observe people around you. Learn the way things move, how things look from certain angles, get someone to pose for you, even. Learn the rules, and you can draw on your own without the need to copy. It is the only way you'll improve as an artist. Using shortcuts will not help the matter any--you need to train yourself to reproduce life, and then you can bend it to fit your ideas.
Q. Are your characters from Zelda or Lord of the Rings?
No, the characters in my art and writing are creatures of my own design. They are not based on or affiliated with Tolkien’s or Nintendo's elves, although they do use magic. If you came here to see fan art, there is a Fanart section exclusively for it in the Art galleries.
Q. Why did you stop doing Zelda fanwork?
I've moved on to other things. Plus, I haven't placed many Zelda art onto the net. There's plenty of other Zelda sites out there you can visit for that kind of stuff.
Q. Are your characters gay or lesbian?
No, I do not draw yaoi(gay) or yuri(lesbian). The only pairings on this site are man/woman. Just because a character may be pretty does not automatically mean he/she is homosexual.
Q. Where are your stories? I'd like to read them.
Previews and synopsis are in the Library section of the Leafwood Forest. The actual books are being written right now and the first is currently being worked on. I think I will try to publish my books with AuthorHouse or some other book publishing when possible.
Q. What are your books about?
Fantasy, elves, dwarves, you name it. There is a lot of magic in my books as well. Warning: You will also find new creatures, races, elements and whatever else comes to mind.
Q. What are your books called?
The series is titled: 'The Six Realms.' There are three books in one of the series and six books in another series. The first to be released is: 'Leafwood Clan.' I also have a series called the 'Leafwood Chronicles' and the 'Tales of Leafwood.'
Q. Have you published other works?
I have had some poems published, but that is all..
Q. How close are you to being finished with 'The Six Realms' series?
Different lengths on each book. I'm farther into some than others. Progress reports and such will be posted on LF (Leafwood Forest).
Q. Is fantasy the only thing you write?
Yes, actually. I have done all sorts of fantasy-like stories although if we are including poems, then I haven't done many fantasy poems.
Q. I don't like your writing. Why don't you stop it and just stick with your artwork?
I will not stop writing because writing is my life, and combined with art it makes me happy and lets me explore and illustrate the world in my mind a little more. You take away my writing, you take away the basis for my art, and it will also stop. I can't have one without the other, so very sorry. I also create music, which is another one of my hobbies.
Q. How do I join the Messageboards?
Currently, I think that I am going to shut them down for a while.
Q. Can I buy some of your art?
Indeed you can. I sell prints if you're interested. Please contact me. Details in the 'Prints and Commissions' section.
Q. What do you color with?
For digital paintings, I use Photoshop CS2, Illustrator CS2, Macromedia Flash and Macromedia Fireworks, and a Wacom Graphire tablet. For natural media, I use colored pencils and mechanical pencils. I will sometimes use pen or watercolors or whatever else I fancy.
Q. What is a Wacom Tablet?
It's a little electronic pad with a pen that lets you draw or paint directly into the computer. You use it in place of a mouse. You can learn more about them at www.Wacom.com.
Q. How long have you been drawing?
I've been drawing as long as I can remember or since I was a wee little chap. :3
Q. Can I send some of my art or writing to you for critique?
I am not really keen on doing so, mainly that when I critique something, I tell them what I feel and sometimes it can be good and other times it can be not so good.
Q. What kind of music do you like?
I like celtic/irish/scotish music, mostly. Beautiful melodies. I also like medieval music.
Q. Why do you have so many characters?
They keep me company as well as being able to express myself in many ways. ^^
Q. Can I draw your characters?
Absolutely! Nothing makes my day more than finding guest art in my mailbox. If you draw one of my characters, it'll quite likely get posted in Leafwood Forest's guest art section along with your name and e-mail, or link to your site.
Q. Why do most of your characters have pointy ears?
Personally, if I was able to, I would like having pointed ears. Elves are some of the coolest races around.
Q. Is this the end of your FAQ?
I'm afraid so.
